Inventive Resources Joins Tahoe Leaders at 2026 Economic Summit
John J. Paoluccio, President, exhibited at the Shortwave Solutions booth, sharing the important environmental conservation work Inventive Resources, Inc.’s Shortwave Solution UV-C treatment vessels support in Lake Tahoe.
On May 7, Inventive Resources joined more than 130 regional leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members at the Tahoe Blue Event Center for the 2026 Tahoe Economic Summit, hosted by the Tahoe Prosperity Center.
This year's Summit centered on the opportunities and challenges shaping Tahoe's future, from workforce housing and regional collaboration to environmental innovation and economic resilience. For IRI, the event was a natural fit, since environmental innovation and conservation is the real work we do every day.
IRI exhibited in the Innovation Exchange, where President John J. Paoluccio spoke with attendees about our UV treatment systems and the conservation work we're doing to protect Lake Tahoe from aquatic invasive plant species.
Lake Tahoe faces a persistent threat from invasive plants that can disrupt the lake's ecosystem, degrade water quality, and damage infrastructure. Our work with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) focuses on preventing the spread of these species through UV-C treatment technology designed for the unique conditions of the Tahoe Basin and beyond.
The Summit brought together people working on different pieces of the same regional puzzle, including housing, transportation, clean energy, forest health, and business growth. What stood out was how interconnected those pieces are. Protecting Tahoe's environment isn't separate from supporting its economy or its communities; it's all part of the same system.
The event also paired with the Tahoe Chamber's Go Local Business Expo, creating a full day of connection between policy conversations and the businesses actually doing the work on the ground. Attendees moved between breakout sessions on topics like environmental innovation and regenerative economies, then stepped into the Expo to meet the people and companies turning those ideas into reality.
One attendee summed it up well: "This was one of the best regional events I've attended in Tahoe. The conversations felt real, collaborative, and solution-oriented."
We appreciated the chance to be part of those conversations and to share the work we're doing alongside TRPA to keep Lake Tahoe's waters clear, healthy, and protected for the long term.
We're looking forward to continuing this work See you at next year's Summit.
