Inventive Resources, Inc.
Inventive Resources, Inc. is happy to have been honored by the 2025 MAE Innovators Awards.
Our Enclosure Protector Attachment was recognized among the best by the 2025 MAE Innovators Awards. Votes placed by the engineering community recognized Inventive Resources, Inc as a Gold-level Winner in the Innovators category. Gold-level Awards recognize excellent innovation, the benefits of which are clear. A Gold-level Innovators Award recipient makes a substantial improvement over previous methods employed, approaches taken, or products/systems used.
The 2025 MAE Innovators Awards celebrates outstanding innovation in defense and aerospace for the engineering industry. Every year MAE showcases and rewards companies, designers, and innovators who have contributed to the advancement of technology through their creative and impactful designs.
2025 MAE Innovators Award winners are chosen by a qualified judging panel chosen by the editorial staff at Military + Aerospace Electronics. Platinum, Gold, and Silver honorees are revealed every fall.
Enclosure Protector Attachment (EPA)
What is it?
The EPA is an attachment that protects electrical and electronic panels, similar to a NEMA 4 rating, from environmental contamination by preventing ambient air contaminants from entering the enclosure.
What does it do?
A bladder accommodates the thermal expansion and contraction of the air, preventing moisture and airborne contaminants from entering. The dryer and oxygen absorber captures the sealed-in moisture and oxygen inside, stopping oxidation and corrosion of sensitive components. This passive unit easily connects with tubing to a new or existing enclosure, transforming it from an “Open to outside air” system to a “Closed to outside air” system.
Note: Enclosures still require thermal control systems to remove heat buildup, such as air conditioning units or thermoelectric coolers.
Why install it?
When enclosures contain high humidity air, condensation can form at night as they cool down. This causes water to drip on sensitive components, leading to corrosion, shorts, safety hazards, and failures. The EPA can prevent water and oxygen from entering electrical systems, extending the life of these components and keeping equipment safe.
