WHAT THE CITY OF VINTAGE GROVE HAS DONE TO PROMOTE CLEAN STORMWATER RUNOFF SOLUTIONS
  • Catch Basin Inserts – Every storm drain in the city has a catch basin filter.
  • Vaults – The installation of vaults under parking lots captures storm water, processes through the polishing filter and puts clean water into the rivers and reservoirs
  • Green Roofs & Water Harvesting – The city has mandated that all commercial, industrial, and city buildings use green roof technology and water barrels. All overflow water is stored in either the harvesters or vaults and conserved for future use.
  • Bio-Mass Technology – Innovative use of dairy waste and other waste products removes them from potentially entering the city’s water supply and instead using the waste as a renewable energy source.
 
WHAT YOU CAN DO!

There are many techniques residence can use to help maintain a clean water supply.

  • Utilize Rain Barrels to collect rainwater from your roof
  • Take advantage of a City Tax Rebate for installing a Green Roof at your residence
  • Make sure all pet waste is picked up and does not go into the storm drains
  • Ensure all leaves are picked up and deposited into the bio-mass barrels
  • Make sure any chemicals or paints are not washed down the drain
